MiniChats PRIVACY POLICY

PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: May 28, 2026

1. Introduction
MiniChat ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App. By using MiniChat, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information (via Sign in with Apple)
When you sign in, Apple provides us with:
• A unique Apple user ID (used to identify your account within the App)
• Your display name (used as your default publishing name)
• Your email address (optional; used only if you request author status)

This information is stored locally on your device and may also be stored in Apple's CloudKit infrastructure as described below.

b) Content You Create
• Blog posts, including title, body, tags, author name, and publish date
• Comments on posts, including your name and comment text
• Likes you place on posts
• Your author profile, including bio and publishing name
• Publishing channels (admin only), including channel name, bio, and avatar image

c) Usage Data
• Read history (stored locally on your device only)
• Favorites (stored locally on your device only)
• App preferences and settings (stored locally on your device only)

3. How Your Data Is Stored

MiniChat uses Apple CloudKit (iCloud) to sync and share content across users. The following data is stored in Apple's CloudKit Public Database and is accessible to all users of the App:

• Blog posts and their associated metadata (title, content, author name, tags, publish date)
• Comments on blog posts
• Likes on blog posts
• Author profiles (publishing name, bio)
• Publishing channels (channel name, bio, avatar image)
• Author requests submitted for review

Your unique Apple user ID is stored alongside posts, comments, and likes to identify your content within the App. This data is hosted on Apple's iCloud servers and is subject to Apple's iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to external servers:
• Your list of saved accounts and active session
• Subscribed authors
• Favorites
• Read history
• App settings and preferences
• Locally uploaded post images (stored in the App's sandboxed documents directory)

4. How We Use Your Information
• To provide the core content publishing and reading functionality
• To display your name on posts and comments you create
• To identify your content so you can edit or delete it
• To process author status requests (admin review only)
• To display your author profile and publishing channels in the Marketplace
• We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, or behavioral tracking

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Your content stored in CloudKit's Public Database is visible to all App users by design (this is how blog posts, comments, and author profiles are shared). We do not share your data with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Apple acts as a data processor for content stored in CloudKit. Please review Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles iCloud data.

6. Data You Control

You have the following rights and controls within the App:
• Edit your posts and comments at any time
• Delete your posts and comments (your own content)
• Update your author profile, bio, and publishing channels
• Export your data at any time using the encrypted backup feature (AES-GCM-256)
• Delete your account from the Account settings screen

When you delete your account from the App, your local account data is removed from your device. Content you previously published to CloudKit (posts, comments) remains in the public database unless you delete it individually before removing your account. If you need assistance removing content after account deletion, contact us at the email below.

7. Data Security
We implement the following measures to protect your data:
• Sign in with Apple — no passwords stored by MiniChat
• iOS app sandboxing for locally stored files
• Encrypted backup exports using AES-GCM-256
• CloudKit data is protected by Apple's iCloud security infrastructure
• We do not store passwords or payment information

8. Children's Privacy
MiniChat is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will reflect when changes were made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
