Creating An Effective Training Plan

5/23/2021

Effective training should focus on achieving results. It should also consider feedback from trainees and correct mistakes. Additionally, trainers should deliver content on time and ask for user input. Finally, trainers should also discuss past errors and describe scenarios.

When the training has multiple sessions, we visualize the plan to make it easy to understand. In the following example, we designed training as follows:
  • There are three types of training sessions: core processing training, report/scorecard training, and Q&A office hours.
  • Each session is scheduled multiple times in a two-week training period to accommodate different time zone requirements.
  • Users can select any available time to attend the three required sessions.
To visualize this training plan, We used a two-week calendar view and added types of sessions using different colors. We provided a "legend" to display both learning requirements.

For the user sign up we can incorporate the learning path in the sheet so the users will not miss any required training. The spreadsheet validation offers the session choices. We choose the same colors to direct the learning path for the session selections.

This use case shows that we can envision business communication using visualization.
