A Factory of One: Applying Lean Principles to Banish Waste and Improve Your Personal Performance (2011) by Daniel Markovitz is a book telling how to use the lean principles, that are proven to be effective in business to the personal life management.  Markovitz suggests us to think that ourselves as "a factory" and take the following actions:  

• Learn to have a good housekeeping with 5S: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. 
• Keep work moving.
• Know your job, your value and your capability.
• Choose one task and avoid multiple options.
• Do one thing at a time.  

The goal is to avoid any waste, achieve most efficiency and produce most value. ​
