On September 1, 1939, German invaded Poland and started the WW II in Europe. UK and France declared War on German two days later. On May 10, 1940, following Neville Chamberlain's resignation, Winston Churchill became Prime Minister of UK and led the UK till German surrender in 1945. The Darkest Hour movie tells a story when Winston Churchill became the prime minister and lead the "Operation Dynamo" to evacuate 338,226 allied soldiers from Dunkirk back to the UK between 26 May and 4 June 1940. The movie depicts Churchill's stress and courage when making the decisions to go to war against Germany. ​
