Organizing can make us happy because we feel in control when organizing our things. This sense of control makes us feel good. By organizing, we can also improve productivity and surround ourselves with people and things that spark joy. In this blog, I'll discuss principles learned about staying organized, including how to make plans, create habits, reduce distractions, and minimize possessions.

Make a plan. "If you don't plan your time, someone else will." I found this is indeed correct. When we were young, our parents planned for our life. Going to school, taking after-school programs, reading through a reading list... when we don't have strong opinions, others' ideas will dominate. Therefore, the first thing to organize our life is to take control back into our own hands. Making a plan and setting priorities allows us to decide what to do and how we spend time.

Develop habits. We are inherently lazy to save energy. 90% of our daily decision are made by habits or decided with our subconsciousness. As a result, when we like to do something, we can make it a habit to save a spot in our life.

Reduce distractions. The problem with distractions is they take time away from what we really like to do or delay our actions which are procrastinations that bother many. To be organized, we will direct our focus on our plan so we can live on purpose and with consciousness.

Minimize Material Possessions. This is decluttering. The world is made up of energy. Every object is part of it. We would appreciate every object's company in our life and understand how its energy impacts our life. Too many objects can be a burden, and that's why we become minimalist to keep only what we need to preserve our energy and save them for others.

By learning these principles, we can then apply them to every aspect of our life home, work, relationships, and everything in between.

Sukee’s Notes: after extensive study and practices, my life and work is pretty much organized. I mark this as completed, of course organized living also benefit after I adopt minimalism lifestyle.
