In 2011, he joined his rivals in classical music competitions, Luka Šulić, who was born one year later than him (on August 25, 1987) in Maribor, Slovenia, and formed 2CELLOS in 2011 after their viral cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" on YouTube.
2CELLOS has been successful with prestigious performance and album releases. In 2022, they concluded their collaboration with a final tour ending in Zagreb, Croatia in 2022. Luka Šulić is focusing on his solo career and family life. At the same time, Stjepan Hauser continues to perform solo and has launched his "Rebel with a Cello" tour, which we participated in at Austin Bass Concert Hall. Apple recently announced Vision Pro, but there are concerns about the potential health effects of this technology. People have been seen using the product in restaurants while eating, completely absorbed in their own world. The behavior can of waving hands in the air appear strange and weird to the people around them. The problem is that excessive screen time and lack of social interaction can lead to loneliness and stress. This is already evident when we use our iPhones during dinner with our families. The Vision Pro may be even more isolating and could have a negative impact on mental health. Therefore, we need to be mindful of the impact of technology on our social, physical and mental health.
Research has shown that if we don't have any physical contact with others for a certain period of time, we may lose our sanity and become mentally disturbed. This has been described in the John C. Lilly’s Sensory Deprivation experiment in1950s. The Vision Pro can exacerbate this issue as it doesn't allow for physical contact with reality. This could lead to further health problems. Another issue is multitasking. When people have multiple screens in front of them, they tend to multitask, which can lead to intense mental stress and reduced productivity. It's important to be minimalist and focus on one task at a time. With the rise of technology, humans have grown accustomed to receiving instant gratification. However, this experience can be detrimental to our ability to learn and grow. If we are always satisfied, we lose the incentive to strive for more and to overcome challenges that help us survive. We may experience “behavioral sink” described in John B. Calhoun’s Mouse Utopia Experiment or universe. 25 experiment in 1970s.The struggle is a natural part of life and helps us develop our resilience, so that we can truly learn and grow. Life is about experiencing the journey, not just reaching the destination. If we can satisfy all our needs instantly, society will eventually lose vigor and disappear. Slow living is still an important concept, and the living philosophy. Technology is advancing at lightning speed. We can see that what we thought would take 10 years to achieve is already becoming a reality within a year, so we need to be cautious of the impact these rapid changes may have on human society. Philip has provided a detailed description of the 15 design trends that are expected to be popular in 2024. These trends are excellent ideas and will be saved for our future design projects. It's also crucial to familiarize ourselves with these design style names so that we can use AI-generated tools like ChatGPT to bring our ideas to life. Knowing these descriptive words is essential for being creative. I highly recommend watching the video to hear David's explanation of each design and the meaning behind them. Understanding these concepts is beneficial for delivering successful designs in the future. Additionally, you can search for "design trends" on YouTube to find other interesting videos.
National Day of Unplugging3/3/2023 National Day of Unplugging has been observed annually on the first Friday in March. It originated from the efforts of a non-profit organization called Reboot. Founded in 2003 by a group of Jewish creatives, Reboot aims to reimagine and reinvent Jewish traditions and practices for modern times.
One of their initiatives, which gained significant attention, was the Sabbath Manifesto inspired by the concept of the Jewish Sabbath, a day of rest and rejuvenation. Reboot recognized the need for a modern-day Sabbath, a time to unplug from technology and focus on human connections and personal well-being. They saw the impact of technology on our lives and wanted to create a movement that encouraged people to take a break from screens and embrace the analog world. In 2010, Reboot launched the first National Day of Unplugging, a 24-hour period dedicated to disconnecting from digital devices. This day was set aside as a reminder to individuals and communities to pause, reflect, and engage in activities that nourish the soul. The National Day of Unplugging quickly gained popularity and attracted participants from various backgrounds and beliefs, resonating with people who recognized the need for a healthier relationship with technology. Here are some awesome ideas to unplug yourself during this day: 1. Create device-free zones in your home. 2. Set specific unplugging times during the day or week. 3. Engage in outdoor activities to connect with nature. 4. Rediscover analog hobbies like reading, journaling, or playing board games. 5. Practice mindfulness and meditation for mental clarity. 6. Socialize face-to-face and cherish personal connections. 7. Pursue physical activities to stay active and disconnect from screens. 8. Explore creative outlets to express yourself offline. 9. Volunteer or engage in community activities for a sense of purpose. 10. Prioritize self-care activities that promote relaxation and well-being. On the National Day of Unplugging, take the opportunity to enjoy an unplugged day where you can disconnect from technology and focus on enriching experiences. It's a chance to recharge, reflect, and embrace the beauty of the analog world. So, mark your calendar, participate in this annual event, and experience the joy of unplugging. |
