Chat | When to Keep Silent

4/28/2019

"Still Water Run Deep."
Certain moments we rather like to keep silent.
  • When we meet unreasonable people, we should deal with them with silence. With softness, the argument will stop. When people don't listen, advice is useless.
  • When we are angry, we often make poor decisions. Remaining silent can help us calm down.
  • When we lack understanding, it's best to keep silent, observe, and learn before making a judgment.
  • When someone shares their feelings, especially when they are sad, it's important to remain silent, listen and show empathy.
  • When we want to be present, we should keep silent and quiet our mind. We can listen and observe to get a sense of being who we are.

Thought | Subconscious - the Elephant Inside Our Brain

4/14/2019

The subconscious mind is a vast and mysterious realm within us that silently influences our decisions and emotions. It's like an iceberg, with a hidden bulk beneath the surface that houses beliefs, memories, and emotional imprints. All of these factors shape our perceptions and actions. Our subconscious motivations and thoughts are also described as an elephant in our brain, as described in "The Elephant in the Brain: Hidden Motives in Everyday Life" by Kevin Simler and Robin Hanson, that is large, significant, and often ignored or unnoticed.

From the very beginning of our lives, our subconscious begins to absorb information, which forms the basis of our perspective on the world around us. Our cultural norms, early experiences, and societal conditioning all profoundly impact us, shaping our responses to the world as we grow older.

Unconscious biases, deeply rooted in the subconscious, affect our judgments about others based on race, gender, and more. Even with conscious efforts, these biases can seep into our choices, leading to unintended prejudices.

Our emotional experiences are intricately connected to the subconscious. Unresolved emotions from the past may resurface, influencing reactions to present situations and our health. Intuition, guided by the subconscious, aids decision-making through rapidly processing information.

Exploring and utilizing the power of the subconscious mind can promote individual development. Essential techniques in this process include self-evaluation, awareness, and confronting biases. In " Feeling Is The Secret by Neville Goddard," Neville Goddard describes methods like uncovering our feelings, managing our sleep, and using prayer. By uncovering the subconscious through these methods, we can intentionally manage its impact, understand true desires, heal our bodies, and align our emotions and choices with our authentic selves.

Thought | Sleep

4/7/2019

  • "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." - Benjamin Franklin
In his book "Feeling is the Secret," Neville Goddard outlines three methods to access the subconscious mind, the "elephant in our mind." These three methods are feelings, sleep, and prayer. Rest is the most significant, as we spend one-third of our lifetime sleeping.

To make sleep work for us rather than against us, we must avoid feeling regret and frustration before going to sleep. We should never go to bed feeling discouraged or dissatisfied. Our thoughts have the power to create our future, so if we want to experience joy, we must forgive and let go of any resentment we hold towards others and ourselves. To experience peace, we must focus on feeling safe. If we want to be blessed, we must appreciate what we already have and be grateful for our existence. To be surrounded by love, we must give love first, and it will come back to us. If we want to embrace future adventures, we must not limit ourselves to past experiences.

Take a deep breath and feel the power of your thoughts and feelings. We have the choice to stay healthy and heal our bodies. It's as simple as a choice. We can choose to sleep comfortably in our beds and feel content and hopeful. Our subconscious mind is like a garden; we drop and nurture these seeds with satisfaction and positive perceptions. Sleep is like the door to heaven; what we take in as a feeling, we bring out as a condition, action, or object in space. Therefore, we must sleep in the feeling of our wishes fulfilled. Have a good night!
