We have an easier life when we set the right expectation. It's often us who bother ourselves the most. Demanding so much, expecting high, comparing with others, seeking approvals... all these complicate everything. Like hummingbirds won't bother doing the same thing as eagles, there is no need to look up someone and do what's beyond our limits. Well, hearing people say dream big? Yes, I do. I would try it with my best efforts, but I also know I have limits.
Prepare made easy.
Hey, let me know if someone says the same thing to you. My mom always reminded me "be prepared" when she was with me years ago. Now, I still hear her words. Preparation makes things easy. Prepare food for the coming week on Sundays. Organize the work in the morning by listing the top things to do. Plan your next big move by learning all you need to know to do a dam good job... be prepared.
Take your time.
When it was the last time, you sit around with your family and friends chatting, relaxing, and laughing along with them. If you don't remember when it is, schedule one next. Take time on everything and add enjoyable moments down the road. It eventually matters the most.
Stop pleasing people.
If we care nothing about people around us, it's impolite. If we care too much about people around us, it's a burden. Smile, but don't smile too much. Help but don't help unless there is a need. Do the good job and get recognized, but don't eager to seek appraisals. We struggle with relationships when we demand too much from ourselves and others.
Do you live a simple life?
