The background commentary has benefits. It often rehearses different scenarios in our mind; how things might unfold? What should I do or prepare for different situations? What is needed to avoid making mistakes? The reflection on our past actions is used to guide our present decisions. However, when this internal monologue becomes constant, it can be overwhelming.
That's why we can use the technique taught in "The Power of Now" to quiet down our egos, Starting from "watching the thinker," which is another way of saying: listen to the voice in your head, be there as the witnessing presence. When the beginning of the end of involuntary and compulsive thinking, our thought subsides. We will experience a discontinuity in the mental stream — a gap of "no-mind." Then, we go more deeply into this realm of no mind, the state of "pure consciousness." After that, fill the mind with positive thinking detracted from desires. when we think we think we focus and effectiveness.
When we free ourselves from the handcuffs of our mind, we can immerse ourselves in the wonders of the universe, where living or dying holds no fear. However, the little voices in our head can make our lives busy and chaotic. But we have the power to orchestrate them and create our own symphony.
